If you have looked at the website this month, you may have noticed that there is no Local Color article in the FACES & PLACES section.
Due to some miscommunication, there is no Local Color article this month. In the past, when I would run into a situation like this, I would scurry to find SOMETHING to write or to fill in the empty spot. But, you know what? I decided just to let it sit empty for a month.
For all you folks (like me) out there who get uneasy or upset when things are out of control or don't go as planned, please here me out.
From grade school through high school I was the perfect student. I was an honor student, in the National Honor Society, never got detention or got into trouble of any kind. The worst thing I remember doing is chewing gum once (yes, only once) in health class. My teacher, Mrs. Butler, caught me and, in front of the whole class she looked at me and said, "Marilyn, are you chewing gum?" I looked at her, swallowed the gum, and answered as calmly as possible, "No."
That was the last time I ever did anything bad in school (if you can call chewing gum really BAD!)
Well, the time has come free myself of doing things the same every month - BORING!!! It's time to just leave that Local Color space blank. What a rebel I am!
COMMUNITIES: NEW HOPE
PBS 39/WLVT recently released a one-hour documentary on New Hope called Communities: New Hope. It is the first in a series of documentaries on the river towns along the Delaware River.
On Tuesday, March 7th, there was a premiere party, held at Occasions in New Hope. They introduced all the people responsible for making the documentary come to life. They also showed the first 20 minutes of the documentary, which features many well-known faces from our wonderful New Hope community.
You can get your own copy of the Communities: New Hope documentary by donating a minimum of $75 to WLVT.
