______________ NAMES AND NICKNAMES Some people have great nicknames. My dad's name is Richard and he goes by Rich most of the time. "Hi, I'm Rich." What a great thing to say even if your name isn't Rich! I have a couple of friends named Joy. You might think that they are joy-full all the time but they are not. I think Angel, Grace, and Faith are wonderful names. When I was a little girl, I hated my name. I was the only Marilyn in school at one point. Now, of course, I like that I have a rather unique name. It dates me though. I don't know any Marilyns who are under the age of fifty! Some people call me "Mar" - pronounced "MARE" - sounds like a horse. I have nothing against horses, but as I grow older, I would rather not be associated with something that is close to what my girth is becoming. George shares his name with his father and grandfather. George Robert Bullock, III. Good for him that his dad went by Bob instead of George. I think it is important that we each have our own identity. It's also important that we love what we have no matter what the circumstances. How sad to go through life hating anything! I ran into David Baer yesterday in the Post Office. He asked me how I was and I said, "Wonderful!" He said, "Really, Wonderful?" I clarified by saying, "Even though every circumstance may not be perfect, my attitude is WONDERFUL!" How's THAT for a positive attitude! How's YOUR attitude today? ______________ NEWSLETTER NEWS Last month I told you we had 982 subscribers to this email. I just checked and we now have 975. Hmmm. I can't say why that is. A lot of new people signed up but on October 19th 30 people unsubscribed. I am thinking that the email service I use kicked out some dead emails or something. Hmmm.
