Our New Website

Ta -da! (Thunderous applause!)

The new website is up! I am soooo glad it is finally up. I spent a lot of time working on the updates. I am counting on YOU to let me know if you run into glitches on the website or if you find links that are not working. The archived FACES & PLACES pages are not in the new format yet so you may need to use your back button to get back to the main site.

“Why the website change?” you ask. Several reasons. I have wanted to change/add categories, I also wanted the site to load much faster than it did before and be more “friendly” to the Search Engines. So, one of the things I did was to take out a lot of the graphics, especially in the navigation areas.

Please, please, let me know if you find the new site easier to use, faster to load, full of more information, or anything you choose to comment on. Email me at editor@newhopepennsylvania.com

New Features
So, what else is new? Well, we have a Recipe of the Month, hosted by a new volunteer writer, Drew Giorgi. We also have a Monthly Horoscope, written by Jani Allan - read our FACES & PLACES article on her. And, we have a real live Calendar of Events in place of WHAT'S NEW. Megan Wetzel has kindly offered to help create the calendar each month!

Listing with us is now much easier. You can fill in the form on-line and even make payments on-line. Don't forget to tellall your friends that New Hope and Lambertville Businesses (only) can get a FREE listing on our site.

Resources for Wellness
Last month I told you I would mention another project I am working on. It isn't ready to fly yet, but it will be a new website called Resources for Wellness. I plan to provide inspirational and informational wellness articles each month as well as other information about holistic wellness. I plan to introduce a monthly newsletter which will have "Resources for Wellness" in the Subject line. I will be sending each of you the first newsletter issue which you can continue to receive or to opt out of - you can make that choice when the first newsletter arrives.

August Events
Showcase the Arts of New Hope is gearing up to be a wonderful weekend and will offer a delectable dinner on Sunday evening. Art exhibits, a sculpture tour, children's activities on Saturday afternoon and lots of music. Tickets still left for the Sunday Evening Celebration. Go to www.newhopeartsinc.org for details.

September Events
Put Sept 6th 2003 on your calendars. All-day entertainment in New Hope - a boat ride - a treasure hunt - art demonstrations and music performances. Go to our calendar of events for more info.

Sept 13 & 14 is the Celebration of Farming at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, located next to the Rt 202 exit ramp on Rt 29 in Lambertville. You HAVE to go visit this place! You won't find a better spot that depicts farm life over the last century. (609) 397 2752

Local Color - This month we feature Jani Allan, our new Horoscope writer and a famous journalistic celebrity from S. Africa. Now she lives right here in New Hope!

The Arts - I just HAD to offer some kind of tribute to Bob Hope this month. His gift of humor and laughter brought a lot of joy to my family as I was growing up... some great memories! Note that we have combined the Art & Artists section with the Theater & Music section.

Around Town - Here's an article by Jani Allan - her first impressions of New Hope and Bucks County.
