DID YOU THINK I FORGOT?

I know, the newsletter is late again. Life kind of got in the way - again.

My goal for August and future months is to send out the newsletter mid-month.

Yeah, right

THE MOVE!

A while ago I announced that I was getting a divorce (not my choice.) The impending divorce precipitated the sale of our marital house and all the fun stuff associated with selling a house - open houses, packing, house showings, packing, garage sale, more packing. . . Of course, the sale of our house also meant I had to move.

The divorce is final.

We sold the house.

I moved from a beautiful 8 year old, 2400 square foot, four bedroom, upgraded, open layout, high-ceilinged model home, complete with basement and elegant window treatments to a 25 year old condo the size of a large storage shed.

The good news is that I still live in New Hope (Solebury, actually) and have a New Hope address and the same phone number. I don't have to change my business cards!
The bad news is that I have 232 boxes of "stuff" and a depressed dog to deal with.
On the day of the move, after all the furniture had been moved in and the movers were hauling in box after box, I was standing in the main living area of my condo wondering how everything was going to fit into this tiny space. When there was absolutely no more floor space left, one of the moving guys said to me, "There are another 25 or so boxes still in the truck."

I said, "No way! You are exaggerating."

Minutes later he came back and said, "We counted them. There are 35 more boxes."

Ok, let's put this into perspective. Wherever you live right now, imagine taking ALL of the furniture you have from your current residence - let's call it Home A - and cramming it into about a fourth of the space, Home B. Now, remove EVERYTHING from Home A's closets, cupboards, cabinets, drawers, shelves, nooks, and crannies and throw all that into a gazillion boxes. Move all those boxes to the already overflowing Home B. Oh, yes, and let's not forget the family dog which is tramatized to the max. She won't leave your side for a moment and constantly looks at you with doleful eyes asking, " When are we going to go home?" Add to all this mayhem 90 plus degree heat with 90 plus percent humidity.

If stress were measured in dollars, I'd be a billionaire.

Anyone need some empty boxes?
